Jalen Smith commits to Maryland

Maryland men’s basketball received great news tonight.

Jalen Smith, a 6-foot-10 power forward from Mount Saint Joseph’s High School in Baltimore, announced his commitment on Twitter.

Smith, a four-star center, chose the Terps over Miami, Syracuse, Villanova, and Virginia, along with other schools.

Smith is the second commit to join the Terps from Mount Saint Joseph’s in the past two years, joining 2017 signee Darryl Morsell.

Known as “Sticks” to his peers, he is the No. 30 player in the class of 2018 according to 247sports, and will be teaming up with Aaron Wiggin to headline the Maryland Basketball 2018 recruiting class.

Maryland basketball now has the No. 7 recruiting class according to 247sports.
