4:47 p.m.

Episcopal (Texas) 5-star defensive tackle Marvin Wilson signed with Florida State, he announced live on ESPNU.

Wilson is not only the top-ranked defensive end in Texas according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, but he’s also the top-ranked defensive end in the entire country. He’s the sixth-best overall recruit in the country.

The 6-foot-4, 329-pound defensive end chose the Seminoles over Ohio State, LSU, Oklahoma and South Florida.

With Wilson’s commitment, the Seminoles hold a top-five recruiting class for 2017.

DeSoto (Texas) four-star wide receiver KD Nixon signed with Colorado Wednesday, according to his Twitter.

Nixon is the No. 43 wide receiver in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He joins the No. 35 ranked class in the nation, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings.
The 5-foot-8, 182-pound receiver verbally committed to Colorado Oct. 18, 2016. He chose the Buffaloes over Tennessee, Arizona State, Oklahoma State and Louisville, among others.

Galena Park North Shore (Texas) four-star defensive end K’Lavon Chaisson signed with LSU this afternoon, according to the team’s twitter account

Chaisson is the No. 37 overall recruit according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is also ranked No. 4 at his position and No. 5 in the state of Texas according to 247Sports.

He will join an LSU recruiting class that sits at No. 5, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings

Chaisson chose the Tigers over the in-state Texas Longhorns.

Cy Ridge (Texas) three-star all-purpose back Trelon Smith signed with Arizona State Wednesday, according to Sun Devils’ head coach Todd Graham’s Twitter account.

 

Smith is the No. 10 all-purpose back in the country and No. 80 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He joins the No. 36 class in the nation, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings.

The 5-foot-8, 181-pound back verbally committed to Arizona State June 20, 2016. He chose the Sun Devils over Illinois, Duke and Bowling Green, among others.

Bishop Dunne (Texas) three-star defensive tackle Damion Daniels signed with Nebraska on ESPNU Wednesday.

Daniels is the No. 49 defensive tackle in the country and No. 89 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite ranking. He joins the No. 22 class in the nation, according to the 247Sports Team Rankings.

The 6-foot-1, 315-pound defensive tackle chose Nebraska over Colorado and UTSA, among others.

Four-star Bishop Dunne High School (Texas) cornerback Chevin Calloway became a Razorback earlier today, choosing Arkansas over Texas and Nebraska.

Calloway verbally committed to Iowa on July 11, 2016, but decommitted just four months later. Upon reopening his commitment, he officially visited Ole Miss, Texas and Arkansas.

By signing day, it was pretty certain Calloway would choose the Razorbacks after his recent visit to Arkansas on Jan. 20.

Calloway, a 5-foot-11, 183-pound cornerback, is 17th-best at his position in the country and the 22nd overall player in Texas, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

Arkansas is losing multiple senior cornerbacks so Calloway could have the chance to make an immediate impact. Arkansas now ranks No. 28 for its Class of 2017 commits, according to 247Sports’ Composite Team Rankings.

11:55 a.m.

Westlake High School (Texas) 4-star outside linebacker Levi Jones surprised many this morning with his commitment to USC instead of Florida State.

Live on ESPNU, Jones took off his sweatshirt to reveal a Florida Gators shirt, then again to reveal a Seminoles shirt, and then one last time to proudly reveal a shirt with the letters “SC” on it.

Jones is Texas’ 14th-best overall player and the country’s sixth-best outside linebacker, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings.

The Trojans remain a top-10 recruiting class in the country thanks to Jones, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound defenseman.

10:42 a.m. 

Westlake High School (Texas) four-star offensive tackle Stephan Zabie signed his National Letter of Intent early Wednesday morning, making official his commitment to UCLA.

After narrowing down his list of schools to a final three on Sunday night, the 23rd-ranked offensive tackle in the country made his decision at his high school live on ESPNU.

Zabie’s offer from UCLA came just 12 days ago, and yet, he chooses the Bruins over Texas and Ole Miss, schools he also took official visits to in recent weeks.

Although Zabie was ineligible to play his senior year, the 6-foot-5, 290-pound tackle received a lot of attention from schools across the country. With his commitment, UCLA currently holds the No. 19 Class of 2017 in the country, according to 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
