National Signing Day: Midsouth

Pendleton (S.C.) High School four-star defensive end Brad Johnson will stay in-state, as he committed to South Carolina at his school’s signing day ceremony today.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Johnson is the No. 1 defensive end and No. 3 overall recruit in South Carolina, as well as the No. 22 weak-side DE in the country, according to 247Sports.

By signing Johnson, the Gamecocks have secured six of the state’s top eight recruits and are now ranked the 20th-best class, according to 247Sports.

Johnson had narrowed his decision down to the Gamecocks and Virginia Tech before today.

Ridge View High School (S.C.) three-star athlete Latheron Rogers-Anderson has committed to Western Kentucky, according to his school.

Rogers-Anderson was the fourth ranked athlete in South Carolina, according to 247 Sports.

He chose Western Kentucky over Cincinnati and Colorado State, among others.
