Oxon Hill (MD) center Stefan Touani verbally committed to Robert Morris University Friday night, he announced on his Twitter account.
The 6-foot-3, 285-pound center captained his team to an undefeated regular season and an appearance in Maryland’s 3A South regional final.
Touani specifically thanked his mom, his coach, Craig Jeffries, and his mentor, Phil Michaels.
“They have pushed me all throughout high school and each of them helped me become a great young man on and off the field,” Touani said.
He chose Robert Morris over Morgan State and St. Francis University, citing the opportunity to change the trajectory of a program.
“The coaches have been showing me love from the beginning,” Touani said. “I like the challenge of changing around a program. When I came to Oxon Hill, they were a program that wanted to take a jump and we did that this year. I feel that with hard work, Robert Morris will do the same in the future.”
Touani is the third commit in the Class of 2017 for Robert Morris, joining Brayden Thimons and Duane Brown.
