We are live and underway at the Holiday Gym  for the first day of the #HSOTInvite. Follow along with all the action for today with this live blog!

Today’s Action includes

Game 1 – Terry Sanford vs. Leesville Road

Telligence Johnson is starting off the game hot!

Quarter 2 –  Story: Terry Sanford’s defense 

Alex Hunter goes to the bench with his second foul late in the second quarter. Leesville starting to wake up on offense. Terry Sanford has destroyed from beyond the arc so far. 

Halftime Terry Sanford 31 Leesville 20. Storyline? Telligence and Malik Johnson 

Telligence and Malik Johnson combined for 13 points and 6 assists at the break wp.me/p5SoR8-2Zf #HSOTInvite

Quarter 3: Leesville’s 3-2 zone has been slowing the game down, trying to prevent Terry Sanford  from getting out in transition. It’s working as the lead is now below double digits……


and it’s gone.

After 3 Terry Sanford leads Leesville 43-32

Jonathan Mebane picks up his 4th foul with 6:33 to go in the 4th.


Final: Terry Sanford 62 Leesville 42

Leesville hung tough for a little bit, but Terry Sanford’s transition game led by Malik and Telligence Johnson were just too much for the pride of Leesville.
Game 2 – Apex vs. Voyager

Q1: Voyager is taking care of things early. Up 22-11 over Apex. Chance Greene has turned some heads with his shifty play. Jay Huff is one of the more talented players in the tournament.

Crowd is starting to fill up here!

Apex struggling to even get shots off on offense. Jay Huff is altering almost everything at the rim.
Game 3 – Broughton vs. Ravenscroft

Mike Okauru has been blowing by whoever has defended him so far. He’s the tallest one on the court. Douglas Elks has been holding his own as well.

Ravenscroft moving the ball really well this half. Broughton hanging in there and this has the chance to be the closest game so far.


Aaron Gottfried is keeping Broughton in the game. Douglas Elks has 4 threes this half


Broughton ups the pressure and makes this a closer game 52-48 at the 5:40 break in the third.

Aaron Gottfried (Broughton) and, Michael Okauru and Douglas Elks have been stellar so far. Ian Dubose has come alive in the second half as well.


Tharon Suggs has been the most active offensive player on Broughton. Gets to the lane and draws mad contact

Ravenscroft is staying patient and making their free throws. up 60-52 with 1:50 left in the 4th quarter

Douglas Elks with 15 and Michael Okauru with 19 points
Game 4 – Garner vs. Panther Creek

Juan Munoz of Panther Creek is one of the few pass first players in this tournament. Garner is easily the more athletic team

Garner clearly the more athletic team. Getting a lot of opportunities at the rim. Juan Munoz is make some great passes through this aggressive Garner 1-3-1 floating press.
