After anchoring the Terps in their 13-3 season-opening victory against William & Mary, sophomore goalkeeper Megan Taylor earned Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Taylor, the Big Ten Goalie of the Year in 2016, got off to a hot start in her sophomore campaign against the Tribe, recording eight saves, two forced turnovers and three ground balls collected. She allowed just three goals on Saturday, giving her a .727 save percentage in the contest.
This marks the second time that Taylor has won Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Taylor and the Terps will be in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. on the road against Georgetown (0-1).
